Vegan Broccoli Bac'un Salad
I made this salad a few weeks ago for a potluck, and it was seriously gone in about 3 minutes. I had so many people asking me for the recipe that I decided to post it (I was going to post it anyway, duh! ). No one at this potluck was vegan except for me, when I told them what they were eating was vegan, they couldn’t believe it. I don’t see why people have this preconceived notion...

I know I should be gearing for Spring fashion, but the dreary weather in Portland makes it hard

Chunky Knits and Sex Appeal Collide
Emerging designer competition winner of Charleston Fashion Week 2011, Charlotte Hess, is definitely someone to keep your eye on in the world of fashion. This up-and-coming designer combined the warm comfort of chunky knits with just the right amount of sex appeal to keep heads turning. Who knew knitting could be so sexy???

Street Style: My very own dress up doll!
Today I’m hanging out with my bf Frankie. I decided to dress her up in my clothes and play around with my new camera! I am definitely not a photographer, but I tried my best…doesn’t she look amazing? Kind of like a Russian Penelope Cruz….mother Russia would be proud….

Potato and Wild Rice Medley
This dish brings all of the warm fall colors and flavors together. Hearty, sweet, tangy and creamy all at the same time. It resulted from me avoiding the grocery store and attempting to use up some things in my fridge and cupboards that always seem to accumulate due to lack of use- rice and potatoes. For some reason I never have a shortage of either, and typically avoid eating both (I think...

Sexy Sangria
Spring is in the air! Well…not really…it’s still as rainy as ever in Portland. But one way to brighten up even the gloomiest of days is with a large glass or two of Sangria, which is exactly what I did yesterday! Not to brag or anything, but I’m kind of known around town for my sangria-making abilities ;-). This is my most basic sangria recipe. I will post more varieties as I make them in the...

Spicy Black Bean Cauliflower Salad
A fusion of Mexican and SE Asian flavors, this is one of my favorite recipes! Like the title says, this recipe is spicy, so if you have a low heat tolerance I would cut back on the red pepper flakes. Feel free to be flexible with the ingredients. The first time I made this I did not include the red bell pepper. If you don’t have one on hand, don’t feel like you need to run to the store to buy...

I love Pendleton!!
I first fell in love with the iconic Oregon brand, Pendleton, when they started collaborating with the high fashion lable, Opening Ceremony, a few years ago. Sadly, their amazing pieces were never in my price range…
Then, during Portland Fashion Week 2010, I had the opportunity to walk for Pendleton Meets Opening Ceremony, and discovered that they were partnering with other brands,...
