Cooky Hats at the Royal Wedding
Today was the world cup of weddings. Women all over the world gathered around their plasma screen TVs, watching in anticipation to see the wedding of the century unfold with a play by play commentary from the royal experts. Obviously the most anticipated fashion piece, the fabulous Alexander Mcqueen wedding dress, will be replicated for years to come, but what about those hats?!
I gotta hand it...

The -What to do with Celery- Salad
Ever find yourself buying a bunch of celery at the store, using one stalk, and not knowing what the heck do to with the rest? Celery is always the poor lonely bastard in my fridge that ends up getting limp before I can eat it all (yeah, that’s what she said).
I came up with this recipe last night when I was faced with this dilemma. Celery definitely isn’t my favorite veggie by a long shot. This...

Street Style: Frankie Says Relax
The first sign of sun all year! Definitely took advantage of it and shot this look. Simple, yet edgy. Probably could have added some more accessories, but oh well. The shoes are pretty bold on their own, I didn’t want to detract from their amazingness. This beauty is Frankie, otherwise known as my life partner.
Dress: H&M
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Street Style: Flowy Top
I found this amazing top at a thrift store last year. I love the deep colors. The combination of velvet, sheer and silk is pretty intense, so I paired it with some simple denim shorts (which I also got at a thrift store). I always find it difficult to accessorize this top. The necklace may have been a bit much…how would you guys accessorize it?
Top: Vintage
Shorts: Levis, vintage

Street Style: Combat or heels?
This look is featured today on the awesome blog North on Harper! Two different shoes, same outfit. Which look do you like better? The boots are authentic military issue, I got them at an army surplus store a long time ago before you could find combat style boots in mainstream stores. I added some bling to them as well. The heels are a pair of Jeffrey Campbells. Love the stud details on my old pair...

Skinny Girl Vegan Tempeh Reuben
I absolutely love Rueben sandwiches, I also love being skinny. Unfortunately….
Rueben Sandwich + Mandi ≠ Skinny
Good thing I came up with the perfect equation to make a Rueben sandwich which isn’t all that naughty for you! Subtract the greasy corned beef and cheese, add some tempeh and my amazing Rueben sauce and voila!!!
This delicious, naughty-tasting sandwich is less than 400 calories. The...

Street Style: Sheer and Knits
This is my favorite skirt! Vintage Donna Karan. I have been getting a lot of use out of it lately. I like pairing the sheer skirt with a chunky oversize sweater, especially since its still chilly out. The glasses are new! Just bought them last weekend at Sunglass Hut. The sales associate told me that about 100 people tried them on and they were all too scared to buy them because they didn’t...

Lux Hippie Tempeh Salad Sandwich
This recipe is so yummy! The flavor of the sweet, juicy grapes and the crunchy, fresh celery combined with the rich pecans and tempeh is pretty amazing. I made this for lunch over the weekend. My sister tried a bite and loved it so much that she immediately went to the store to buy more ingredients to make some for herself, because I wasn’t about to share, yes, its that good :-).

Island Delight Vegan Cookies
A little taste of paradise in every bite! These cookies are about as healthy as can be while still getting away with being called a cookie. They are made without flour, sugar, eggs or butter, while still being as delicious as their naughty counterparts. I made some with chocolate chips, and some without. They are good either way, but definitely yummier with the chips added, and they help to hold...

Photo Story: Backpacking China with Style
I recently had the opportunity to visit one of my best friends who is living in China. We traveled from one end of the country to the other, starting in Beijing and ending in Tibet at Mt. Everest base camp, and back to Beijing again. This was definitely not intended to be a “stylish” trip, but I can’t bring it upon myself to not travel in style…even if the only luggage I...
