Spicy Green Beans



Ingredients: 
 
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon soy or tamari sauce
1 teaspoon maple syrup
½ teaspoon ginger powder
1 pound green beans, strings removed
1 tablespoon seasame seeds
2-3 tablespoons water
¼ cup sliced almonds
 
Directions:

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil; add onions, garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for about a 3 minutes.

2. Add soy sauce, maple syrup, ginger powder and green beans and cook for about 5 minutes until green beans are tender. During this time, add 2-3 tablespoons of water if needed.

3. Before serving, top with sliced almonds
